Meet Ellen Steverson

Career Management Strategist | Consultant | Author | Speaker | Trainer

Ellen Steverson is a Career Management and Advancement Strategist and Founder and President of StartingBlock Career Services, LLC. Since 2011, she has worked with thousands of professionals, from emerging leaders to C-suite executives, and delivered career development and business programs for corporations, nonprofits, universities, and associations.

Before launching StartingBlock, Ellen’s roles included executive and engineering recruiting and sales management, giving her firsthand experience evaluating talent and understanding employer priorities. She later earned a South Carolina state award for expanding an internship and work-readiness program with more than 50 business partners, through which hundreds of young adults gained skills, experience, and job offers.

Combining her business degree and experience with her multiple certifications in career management and career services, Ellen consults, coaches, trains, and speaks on career management, employee development, and workplace topics. She co-wrote Working to Winning and co-created the Forge4ward Career Management Model™ and decision-making tools. Her work creates common ground between employees and employers while equipping people to make informed decisions, communicate their value, and take action throughout their careers.
